How To Fix a Waste Ink Pad Error Or a Waste Ink Counter Error

All Printer resets access a (physical) chip within the printer and reset a counter back to zero. As no other program is able to do this! Therefore, your computer security system or antivirus/antispyware could flag a virus/trojan alert.

During a printers cleaning cycle it dispels ink from its nozzles and tubes down a waste pipe into an absorbent pad. The printer manufacturer has put a counter in your printer that counts every page that has ever passed through the printer, even blank pages! When the counter has reached a certain number the printer will shut down to prevent overflow of ink to the pads.
Due to the different types of printing, the waste ink pads may be between 40% and 80% full before the printer stops working. Normally the printer will display the INK PAD error message:
“Waste ink pad in the printer is saturated”
Or:
“Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life. See your printer documentation.”
The error will remain for about 20 prints and then go into “limp” mode, where it will not print anything or give access to any other menu function. The ONLY way to make the printer work again is to use a waste ink pad reset. After the reset, you will have to do the following:
1 – Replace or Clean the Ink Pads

2 – Collect any future excess ink in an external box

Some printers such as the Artisan or PX/TX 700/800 have a panel under the printer and the pads are very easy to remove. After removal;
you can wash the pads under plain, running, clean water(Do NOT use any chemicals!) Squeeze excess water and dry with a hair dryer.
Result: New Pads!
Most printers have the ink pads at the base and are very difficult to remove and this is a job for a professional.
Therefore, most people will install an external box to collect any further waste ink.

Within the printer, there is a tube that goes from the print head to the pads at the base of the printer.
Instead of the tube going to the pads – you take the tube outside the printer(by extending it) and insert
the tube into any small plastic container. Then, you could collect any further ink that is expelled.

The WIC Utility is a free download and you pay for a key to use the reset.
It is available in PC and Apple Mac format. Unlike all the other resets, sold on this site,
the WIC Utility can only be used once. Each time you need to reset the printer, you will have
to get another key. However, when a reusable reset becomes available for a particular
model – then the WIC reset will be withdrawn (for that model) and replaced with a reusable reset.

- Unzip or Unrar files

Before starting the reset procedure, please count the number of files in your folder and see if you have the same number as in
